Is it really biodegradable?
Yes. Our biodegradable glitter is made from cellulose sourced from renewable eucalyptus trees, not plastic. Independent testing to ISO 14855 showed 91.77% biodegraded to CO2 in 106 days, and it carries EN 17033, ISO 17088 and other compostability certifications.
Can I use it in soap?
Yes, but sprinkle it on top of your cured soap rather than mixing it into the batter. Raw soap batter can change the glitter's composition and dull the sparkle. On top, it catches the light beautifully.
Is it safe for lips or eyes?
No. Biodegradable glitter isn't on the FDA's list of approved colours for lip or eye products, so please don't use it there. It's made for soap, bath bombs, resin, candles and craft projects.
Can I use it in bath bombs?
Yes. Mix it through your dry ingredients for an even, all-over sparkle when the bomb fizzes.
Will it work in resin?
Absolutely. It disperses well through resin and cured craft projects for a holographic shimmer.
Can I use it in candles?
Use it decoratively on cured candle tops. Like mica, keep glitter out of the melt pool so it doesn't clog the wick or affect the burn.
Is it vegan?
Yes. It's 100% vegan, never tested on animals, and ethically sourced by Mad Micas from suppliers that certify no child labour.
