What is a lip balm flavour?
A lip-safe, oil-soluble flavour that gives your balms, glosses and scrubs their delicious taste and aroma. It blends straight into your melted base. Just don't confuse it with candle or soap fragrances, which aren't lip-safe.
How much do I add?
Start at around 1-2% of your batch weight and adjust to your liking, up to a max of roughly 5%. Add it once your base has cooled slightly and stir through before pouring.
Can I blend two or more flavours?
Absolutely, it's half the fun! Pick one flavour as the star, add a smaller hit of another, and keep the total within the usage rate. Test, note your ratios, and make it unmistakably yours.
Do lip balm flavours need a cure time?
Your balm sets as it cools, usually within an hour, and it's ready to use straight away. That said, giving it 24-36 hours to rest lets the flavour settle in and come through at its best, so if you can resist, a little patience pays off.
