Curing your Candles

Curing your Candles

Candle making is quite simple but to get the best results for fragrance throw, it is important to cure your candles. But what does this mean?

When making your candles, you have to ensure that the candle wax you are using, if it be a 100% soy wax or a blend, it is important to follow the guides given with it. This means adding the fragrance at the correct temperature so that they properly bind together.

With our brand of Simply 100% Soy Wax, you want to add the fragrance between 70oC and 80oC. You’ll need to ensure that you stir them together for at least a full minute. This part needs to be done properly for the curing to be an effective process.

Once the fragrance has been mixed together with the melted wax and poured into your prepared candle jars, you’ll need to leave them to set. The temptation to light your finished product straight away can be challenging but trust us, you’ll want to leave it for at least 48 hour but ideally, a week or two, especially with soy candles.

During this week, the fragrance and the wax bind together, producing a stronger, more fragrant throw when you finally do light the candle wick. All our fragrances are Australian made and give a wonderful fragrance throw. The bottles they are packaged in are recyclable too, so you know you're doing your part for the environment. You can also browse all the candle supplies at our online shop and start making your perfect candle.
