Make your candles stand out from the crowd!

We've been in the candle industry for over 12 years now, we've seen everything from whipped candles, to homemade candle moulds, to candles that look so yummy we have to resist eating them. Standing out in a market can be a challenge when there are so many candles and candle alternatives. We've got you covered with some ideas you can use to make your candles stand out from the rest.

 

Set trends, don't follow:
If you see a trend on Instagram or Tik Tok and are thinking of introducing it to your own range, the chances are, by the time you go through the testing of it to make sure it is safe and works, all the other candle makers would have added it to their range too. Just keep in mind, some trends are dangerous in candles which is why you have to do all your own testing. So, how do you set trends? Take what is on trend and use it as inspiration to make something completely new. Think about what might logically follow on from this trend. An example of this is the boom of female body moulds candles, naturally male ones started to appear and then all other creative designs. Think about what that natural progression of what is on trend may be.

Make your candle names unique:
This is an idea you can use to bring a unique touch to your brand. You can purchase your fragrances from us as one name and then rename that fragrance in your candles as another name. This way, your fragrance names can align with your brand more and other candle makers won't be able to find your exact fragrance to copy the candle. An example would be using our Monkey Farts fragrance and renaming it to Banana Lollies, which would be perfect if your brand has a range of candy themed candles. 

Bring your personal touch to the candles:
Why did you start a candle business, what is your passion, who are you and how can you reflect this into your business? This is one of the most important ways to be able to stand out from the crowd. As a small business, your customers want to see the face behind the brand, the people, the story. They want to know who they are supporting and why. What's your story, and how can you bring your own personalised touch into your brand?

Listen to your customers:
Your customers are the most important part of your business. Listen to their requests or ideas for your own inspiration as to what your should be introducing to your range. As an example, we've had so many requests to introduce Glasshouse inspired fragrances to our range, so we listened and have just introduced 4 fragrances which are Glasshouse inspired including, Kyoto, Rio, Kakadu, and the favourite, Tahaa. Your customers know what they want and if you try to cater to them, you'll start to see results.
