We've had countless conversations with our customers, sharing their challenges and triumphs amidst these uncertain times. Candle makers often find themselves juggling orders, market trends, and ensuring consistent customer satisfaction against the ticking clock. To help navigate this whirlwind, we have a few strategies to ease the stress and empower you in pursuing your candle making dreams.
Be prepared
Firstly, preparation is key. Having all your supplies readily available ensures a smooth production process for candles, wax melts, diffusers and soaps. Too often, we've seen enthusiasts scramble down to our showroom to collect extra candle supplies like wicks, more fragrance oils, even more wax. Being prepared will set you on track to achieving the best you can when it comes to your handmade candles.
Make your Claim
Having a designated work station helps to streamline the candle pouring process. By having your jars wicked and centred in the one area and being able to take your pouring jug to the pouring it removes the risk of the odd jar being knocked or moved while they're setting. Claim your space, whether its one end of your dining table, the side or your kitchen island, or a set up in the garage like we did when we started out!
Serene Space
Making candles is a craft people often pick up as a remedial hobby. Keeping your space clean can assist in making sure the joy that you gain with the hobby will stay with you rather than resenting the time you have to wash and dry your jug because there's leftover fragrance in it from last time. You should be taking this time to wind down not be aggravated with a situation that could've been avoided.
Time is Money
No matter how prepared you might think you are, there are going to be little hiccups that popup every now and then. An unexpected order that someone needs ASAP or a birthday gift that your mum or sister needs to give to a friend, these situations can be stressful. By having your 100% soy wax or other favourite wax ready to go in a wax melter, you're able to mix, pour and set your candles way faster.
Make Yourself Available
Listening to your customers and hearing their needs and wants always reflects well on your business. By keeping communication channels open, your customers will feel comfortable to ask questions about your products, request new products and even compliment your products.
