Why it is Never Too Late to Start Your New Year Resolutions

Why it is Never Too Late to Start Your New Year Resolutions

We're well into February now, and if you're feeling a little underwhelmed because the New Year's Resolutions you set at the beginning of this year fell through within a few days, we're here to help. We've been there too. The number of times we've set good New Year's Resolutions and told ourselves we're going to follow them through and made false promises to ourselves is, well, probably the same amount of time we've been alive.

Don't Beat Yourself Up

First of all, it's important not to beat yourself up about not completing your resolutions. If you didn't achieve them, there's a reason for it. You need to set the groundwork first and make sure the goals you are setting are A; attainable, and B; have ensured that everything else in your life gives you the best chance to reach your goals.

Making Sure They're Attainable

If you have your candle making business and have a New Year's Resolution of boosting sales by 50% this year, you have to think about how many more candles that means you're going to have to make, how much more time you'll have to spend posting and promoting your business. It's probably not realistic to achieve a 50% growth in one year. Making attainable goals means working backward. Think about what you can do each week, how much more time you can dedicate to making candles and promoting your small business, then over a month, then over a year. You'll probably find a 20% growth way more attainable. This means you'll be setting attainable goals and feel like you've achieved them too.

Giving Yourself the Best Chance

You can't expect to achieve your goals if you haven't done the preparation you need to do them. If you want to increase your sales, you might need a bigger production area, a dedicated hour or day each week to plan what products you are going to make, how long it'll take to get your supplies shipped to you, what other bits and pieces you'll need to make sure you'll be able to reach new customers. You'll need to sit down and do the research first, prepare everything you can, and then you'll be well on your way to achieving your goals. This can go with everything. Do you have fitness goals? Think about what you need, if that's a yoga mat, shoes, a dedicated daily routine to do a workout, a list of healthy meal recipes to fit into your current meals. You can't simply say 'I'm going to get fit and healthy this year' you need to do the preparation first.

It's Never Too Late To Start

Don't feel like you need to start goals on the 1st of the Year. Make these resolutions in February, on a Tuesday, after you've just gotten inspiration on your drive home from work. If you want to see the changes you want in your life, you can start them at any time, any hour, of any day. You get to decide what you want to see next in your life.

Live the Life You Want

Wickii has based this business on making sure our customers are getting to do exactly what they want with their lives. Whether your candle making is a full-time job, part-time job, or just a hobby, we've found the art of candle making is fulfilling for a range of different reasons. Whether it's to learn a new skill, help support your family, or simply as a way to meditate and reconnect with yourself.

So go out there, set your goals, give yourself the best chance, and know that we will be cheering you on the whole time!
